Gameplay Mechanics

Quest givers will now spawn randomly throughout the world. By default, these are villagers. Signs will appear above their heads indicating the quest phase:

  • ! - Quest available.
  • . . . - Quest accepted but not completed.
  • ? - Quest ready to be turned in.

To turn in a quest, approach the NPC and speak with them. If you change your mind about completing a quest in the quest book, you can abandon it by clicking on the red tab with an X.

If you have fully completed a quest, or the time limit has expired, the NPC will be blocked from conversation.

Reset

After a certain amount of time (40 in-game days by default), quest givers should unlock and be ready to issue a new quest.

To avoid desyncs, bugs, etc., all active quests not marked "STORY" are deleted when reset!

Quest Types

Currently, there are two types of quests.

Kill

To complete this quest, you must kill the entity specified by the quest.

Collect

To complete this quest, you must collect the required items in your inventory and return to the NPC with them.

Reward

The player will receive random items from the group, experience, and (Default) emeralds. (The item group, amount of experience, and amount of currency (like emeralds in the example) are preset by the quest author.)
